  • What you see is not what you get. I am: Hazlin. Malay. Malaysian. Muslim. Daughter/Grandaughter, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Friend, Girlfriend, Student of English Language and Literature. Nothing in between. Not one to keep up with the Joneses. Deceptively normal. A Whedonite and obsessed with the Whedonverse. Somewhat weird. Pyromanic. Complicated. In Love with the English Language and its Words. Eccentric. Suffering from Spoonerism. Optimistic. Overly analytical. Loving. Warm. Ranidaphobic. Tolerant. Cynical. Crazy. Responsible. Temperamental depending on the circumstance. Forgiving. Slightly morbid. Very Protective. A bit gullible. Forgetful. Poetic. Acrophobic. Compassionate. An Insomniac. Clumsy. An Alien. Grounded. Placid. And importantly: Blessed with a great family and terrific friends. And in love with my sayang, Ash. What do you think? You decide. Read me.

  • Frustration 2

I'm disappointed. I thought I'd come back and pay Xanga a visit and see whether it'd work when I wanted to post an entry. As it turns out, no. I mean, this page where I could type out this entry dies come out, but the time it takes to load is like, forever. But then, sometimes it doesn't load at all, especially at night, when, I suppose, traffic is the biggest. So by the time the page has fully loaded, I'd either a) lost my train of thought, b) no longer feel the drive to write, and/or c) find the topic already irrelevant. It's just so annoying.

It's sad cos I really do love Xanga more than Blogspot. But Blogspot is so straight to the point that it actually gets the point across. So I'll be on Blogspot for the timebeing til whatever problem is rectified.

    Love, Lin

  • Abandon

    Your voice a mixture
    of gravel and sand
    underwater
    Lacerates my skin
    with muffled words
    whispered
    Spoken carelessly
    from lips come tumbling
    endlessly
    Trailing pathways
    painting heated
    litanies*
    I am caged within
    these snakelike sheets
    intertwined
    Supplicant I lie
    as you persuade me to
    abandon.

    * A derivation from the Old Greek 'litaneia' , meaning 'entreaty'

Some rhythmic cluster of words that sprang from watching the video Aizome and some pent up emotions that's spilling from the brim. Reading an opinion on Youtube (I quote "I LOVE her voice...it's like a mix between water and wind..."), it supplied me with an odd combination of adjectives which I adopted to create the first three lines. From that few lines it substantiated into a translation of an internalized voice. I think it made for an unlikely, but satisfactory marriage of words.
